Swirl Flap Delete
The swirl flap is a device found commonly in modern engines that are intended to create a swirl in the airflow in the inlet manifold, and aims to improve combustion when engine RPM is low. Under high load, the swirl flap fully opens to allow the engine to function for maximum power output.
Unfortunately, swirl flaps often clog with soot or become damaged due to EGR problems. This can cause major damage to the engine, as there is a serious risk that parts of the swirl flap will jam, drastically reducing engine power. If this occurs, repairs are costly.
